Orlando in Danimarca

500 years ago, the first edition of the Orlando Furioso, written by Ludovico Ariosto, was published, and the poem “which refuses to begin and to end”, keeps arising questions and creating attention among its readers. The multiform structure, the polycentric attitude, which keeps itself in a constant movement, the plurality of the mentioned themes, make it extraordinarily actual, even if it maintains its historical roots in the original context. On the other hand, thanks to the editorial success, the work keeps to be published and translated in all the world languages (the last Danish edition has been published in 2014).

The Italian Institute of Culture in Copenhagen and the University of Copenhagen, Italian Section at the Department of English, German and Romance Studies, are happy to announce an International Conference on Orlando Furioso and Ludovico Ariosto to be held Friday November 18th 2016 at Faculty Library of Humanities.

The conference is primarily in Italian!
