Visiting Scholar Programme in English Literature

The Programme in English Studies at the University of Copenhagen announces the opening of a one-year visiting post in English literature for a professor or associate professor. The position can be held for the full academic year or for one semester. Visiting scholars will be expected to engage in teaching activities and public lectures at the institute and to contribute to research fora and limited graduate student supervision.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of teaching qualifications and research achievements as well as fit with research priorities at the institute. In 2020-21 we are looking for writers with interests in creative writing. The deadline for all applicants (for either or both Fall 2020 and Spring 2021) is 1 December 2019.

Scholars will be provided with office facilities, access to the Faculty’s library and to other research infrastructure. Visiting Researchers are not provided automatically with housing but are eligible to apply for various guest accommodation at the university.

Applicants should send a CV, a letter of application, and a 30 page sample of their recent work to Anne Kjølby, and will receive a response to their application one month after the application deadline.

Questions regarding the visiting Scholar Programme should be directed to Head of Department, Christina Lupton.
