Macro Talent Management in Denmark: The Origins of Danish Talent Paradox

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingBook chapterResearchpeer-review

This chapter introduces the peculiarities of macro talent management in Denmark. According to the 2017 Global Talent Competitiveness Index, Denmark excels in its ability to enable and grow talent internally. However, at the same time other characteristics of the Danish macro environment make it difficult for companies to attract and retain talent. This gives rise to what we label the Danish talent paradox: although Danish companies and society in general consider talent growth a top priority, this does not translate into a strong ability to attract and retain talent, especially global talent.
