Documentary - Reconstruction of Asa Carter

The film deals with one of most amazing hoaxes to occur in American history, in that Asa Carter, formerly a member of the Klu Klux Klan, reinvented his identity and posed as a Native American Cherokee. Giving himself the name "Little Tree", Carter went on to become the best selling author who wrote the novel The Outlaw Josey Wales and a false autobiography titled The Education of Little Tree. His story is one that gives us insights into the issues of racial identity and also radical self-reinvention in 20th century America.   In addition to the film, the film's producer, Dr. Laura Browder of the University of Ricmond, will be present afterwards for commentary.

Everyone is welcome.
