Michael Cobb is Professor of English at the University of Toronto, where he is also cross-appointed to the Centre for the Study of Religion, the Drama Centre, and the Women and Gender Studies Institute.He is also an affiliated faculty member at Toronto’s Centre for the Study of the United States and the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies. He was awarded the University of Toronto Faculty of Arts and Science Outstanding Teaching Award in 2009.

Prof. Cobb is the author of Single: Arguments for the Uncoupled (New York University Press, 2012); God Hates Fags: The Rhetorics of Religious Violence (New York University Press, 2006), which was named a Choice Outstanding Academic Title; and Racial Blasphemies: Race and Religious Irreverance in American Literature (New York: Routledge, 2005). His writing has also appeared in The New York Times and Slate.
