At the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies we have a varied selection of research programmes into literary, linguistic, historical and cultural topics with reference to all parts of the world.
Our research covers themes such as the modern epic, the places of literature, twentieth century European history, colonial history and identity processes in former colonies, functional linguistics, foreign language acquisition, translation studies, lexicography, linguistic change and many others.
Engerom is promoting a number of strategic focus areas. These research platforms vil constitute the core of strategic research activities at the Department for English, Germanic and Romance Studies until 2016.
