THE QUEER ARCHIVE?

Kevil Brazil, Associate Professor, University of Southampton and Humboldt Fellow at the FU, Berlin, 2022-23. Author of What Ever Happened To Queer Happiness? (2022).

This lecture will draw on Brazil’s new work with the Pine Walk Collection - a collection of music tapes, found by chance, recoding the music of gay clubs in New York across the 70s and 80s.  It will use this to think about what constitutes a collective queer archive. Precirculated reading.
