External funding for research

For researchers employed at Engerom

If you wish to apply for funding for a research project to be hosted at Engerom, you must submit your expression of interest to Research Funding South (Forskningsfinansiering Søndre) through the Grant application form – University of Copenhagen (KUnet – login required).

Research Funding South has four fixed annual deadlines: 1 February, 1 June, 1 October, and 1 December. Reminders about deadlines are announced in EGR News and HUMnyt.

For applications outside the fixed calls, the expression of interest must be submitted no later than 8 weeks before the foundation’s deadline.

All expressions of interest are forwarded to the management for approval.

For guidance on potential funding instruments, timing, and related matters, please contact research advisor Charlott Hoffmann Jensen.

For external researchers

If you are not currently employed at Engerom but wish to apply for project hosting in connection with an application for external funding, you must complete the following steps well in advance of the fixed deadlines:

  1. Contact a relevant researcher at the department to discuss if and how you and your project align with one or more research environments at the department. The researcher will formulate a letter of support to be included in your application to have your project hosted at the department. Your hosting request will not be discussed by the management if a letter of support is not included.
  2. Send a CV, a publication list (if applicable), and a project description of max. 1 page including information about the project’s aims, organisation (i.e., who will participate), and how the project can be integrated into the department’s existing research environments to the department research advisor Charlott Hoffmann Jensen.

If the department management approves your request, you will receive a link to the expression‑of‑interest form.

For any questions, please contact  Charlott Hoffmann Jensen.

If you intend to apply for co‑funding of your own position, this must be stated explicitly in your email to the department. In the exceptional cases where co‑funding is provided, it is strictly limited to teaching duties for which there is a demonstrable need; co‑funding is not provided for research time.
