German language and culture

The research of German language and culture covers four main areas:

  • The German language, particularly in comparison with Danish and as a target language for Danish learners; the German language system in its broadest sense and German usage in a Danish perspective.
  • Literature in German from Germany, Austria and Switzerland with cultural,  historical and theoretical questions as a point of departure.
  • German cultural history (intellectual, popular and everyday history), especially from the 18th to the 21st century, including transnational and European perspectives.
  • Foreign language acquisition and pedagogy.
